My Story
At the time, I wasn’t looking to replace my full-time job—I was (and still am) an elementary school teacher, a role I’ve cherished for 25 years. But I wanted something more—a creative outlet, an additional income stream, and the opportunity to build something of my own. My dog bakery business became just that. Over the years, I perfected recipes, developed branding, and learned everything there is to know about running a small business while balancing a full-time career and family life.
I’m Jessica, the founder of Blue Goat LLC. My journey as a side hustler began in 2006 with a simple yet heartfelt idea: a dog bakery business. I’ve always loved animals, and baking homemade, healthy treats for dogs quickly became a passion. What started as a small operation, baking treats in my kitchen for friends and family, grew into a full-fledged business.
Fast forward to today, and my side hustle has evolved into a subscription-based business where I teach others how to start their own dog bakery businesses. I know firsthand the challenges of getting started—finding the right recipes, marketing a product, and making sales.
